Detchant is situated two miles from the old coaching village of Belford. The village still has the original 18th centrury coaching inn but is also blessed with a doctor's surgery, dentist, post office, chemist, laundrette, craft shop and a fish and chip shop! There are pubs and a supermarket and a cash point.
 A lot of our guests like to walk across the fields on the public footpaths to the village on the warm summer evenings, or you can go on the old A1 on the pavements, either way it will take you about an hour. There is a local taxi service if you don't want to walk back!
Belford is a very active village with concerts and events always on. You can even join in the annual Fun Run or Pancake Races if you like!
