Detchant is a family run farm growing cereals and producing
prime beef cattle, nestling between the magnificent
Northumberland coastline and the beautiful Cheviot Hills.
The farm is in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and
other environmental schemes. At present, the land is
in the process of becoming fully Organic..
We are situated 2.5 miles from the old market
town of Belford, which was once upon a time a stopping
off point for coaches on their way to Edinburgh along
the Great North Road.
Centrally
located for most market towns in north Northumberland, we
are 15 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed with it's famous Elizabethan
ramparts, 16 miles from Alnwick, renowned for the Alnwick
Gardens and Alnwick Castle made famous by Harry Potter movies.
Detchant is within easy reach of all 7 Northumbrian Castles,
Lindisfarne and only a stone's throw from the majestic coastline
where beautiful white sandy beaches await you.
We also offer drying facilities and packed lunches to
the ever increasing number of walkers and cyclists who
are now visiting this beautiful part of the coastline.
Prices are from £30 per person per night.
We are on both The Coast & Castles cycleway and the
St Cuthberts Way.
The view towards Holy Island
(Lindisfarne) from the farmhouse.
